About the role
Community Correctional Services are currently recruiting three Fixed Term Supervisor based on Lonsdale Street, Melbourne CBD.
As a Supervisor of the Court Assessment and Prosecutions Services (CAPS) within the Melbourne CBD you will be working alongside a Team of Supervisors and supporting CAPS Officers who provide assessment and prosecutions Services to the Magistrates' and County Courts at Melbourne. As a Supervisor, your knowledge and expertise of Court processes, Community Corrections Case Management and legislation will guide you in providing leadership and guidance, ensure assessments of the needs of clients and provision of advice to the judiciary as appropriate. This Supervisor role within CAPS works to assist the Bail and Remand Court (BaRC) on a rotating roster where weekends and late nights are required.
This position works a rotating roster across the extended operating hours of the Bail and Remand Court. Hours of work are nine 8.45 hour work days a fortnight. Shifts are between 0900 - 2130 seven days a week including weekends and public holidays. Appropriate remuneration will be applied for the above in accordance with applicable Victorian Public Service Agreement.
CCS are recruiting one Supervisor position which will work full time until March 2025, thereafter the position will work 0.4FTE until June 2026. In addition we are recruiting one full time Supervisor position through to June 2026.
The Supervisor, Drug Court is a unique role responsible for managing Drug Court Case Managers who monitor and supervise complex participants with drug and/or alcohol dependencies sentenced by the Courts to serve Drug and Alcohol Treatment Orders (DATOs) in the community. The Supervisor acts as person in charge at times for the CCS location and works closely with the Manager, Court Practice and Drug Court and Operations Manager for Court Services Victoria as well as the wider multidisciplinary Drug Court team. This role is essential in the monitoring, implementation and review of case management practices to ensure evidence based best practice approaches are maintained alongside the development of the Drug Court philosophies and operations. Community Corrections are recruiting this position on a full time, 12 month fixed term contract.
**To be successful in this role, you will have**:
- experience and knowledge of best practice case management frameworks, including the provision of needs assessment in a human services context
- an understanding and capability in leading, managing and developing a team responsible for operational service delivery
- an ability to implement theoretical concepts to reduce risk and maximise individual outcomes.
A relevant qualification in social work, human services, criminal justice or criminology with experience in a related field is also desirable.
