We are looking for Room Leaders who would love the flexibility of working at our School Age Care Services on the **southside **of Canberra and have experience in providing support to children, some of whom may have additional needs.

As the Room Leader, you will work alongside the Program Manager and other Room Leaders in leading and supporting the team in the service to provide high-quality education and care to school age children. You will work closely with our team of educators to assist them in implementing educational programs and curriculums that reflects best practice.

Room leaders are required to support services by directly providing education and care to children, during before and after school care sessions, and the school holiday program.

You will build and maintain positive relationships with children and families, and the local community. Most importantly, you will make a difference to the lives of children in our care.

You will be a facilitator of continuous improvement, with knowledge of current best practice as well as early childhood theories.

It is essential that you:

- Hold or currently studying Diploma of Education and Care. If studying, you will need to be 50% through your course as a minimum requirement.
- Experience working with children who require additional support or have additional needs.
- Have a strong working knowledge of the National Quality Framework (My Time Our Place and Being Belonging Becoming) and National Quality Standards.
- Have strong interpersonal skills, and a warm and friendly nature.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders with demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- A Working with Vulnerable People card; and
- Current first aid/asthma anaphylaxis training.
