Key responsibilities
- Manage the operational delivery of quality financial management and budgetary

reporting and advice, on a range of complex and diverse issues, to the Chief Finance
Officer and executive management.
- Manage whole of department financial management reports for the department's

internal committees, Queensland Treasury and other key stakeholders, and
undertake a process of continual review and improvement of current financial
management reports.
- Provide expert guidance and advice to senior management and internal and

external stakeholders on financial position, trends and other significant issues of the
department including commercialised business units.
- Lead and actively participate in the planning, coordination, preparation and

monitoring of the departmental annual budget and estimates processes, including
preparation of budget papers and budget submissions.
- Coordinate and manage responses to requests for financial information from

internal or external stakeholders.
- Coordinate the development of the Corporate budgets and the internal allocation

and recovery of these costs.
- Supervise, appraise and monitor performance of staff and provide leadership to

ensure the development of staff to optimise operational effectiveness and to support
the department's strategic goals and objectives.
- Lead or participate in various multi-disciplinary projects to assist the Office of the

CFO meets its objectives, as directed by the Director and Chief Finance Officer.
- Communicate and negotiate with influence with a number of key stakeholders,

including central Government agencies, and other managers throughout the
department.
- Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff.
- Provide backup within the team as required.
