The
**Transport & Load Scheduler** is responsible for the effective and compliant scheduling of heavyvehicles and general transport, driver allocation and order/load requirements per day to ensure delivery of business objectives, following company policies and State & local transport legislation and regulations. The goal is to provide a reliable, safe and cost effective delivery service to Metroll customers supplying made-to-order steel building materials throughout theSouth East QLD & Northern NSW building industryW. Other general duties will include, administration, communicating and liaising with customers to confirm delivery, site and transport requirements, transport and delivery audits and driver training and feedback.

**Monday to Friday: 10am-6pm**

**Salary - $65,000 - $85,000 + super**

**Location - Richland, Brisbane**

**Key Result Areas Standards**:
Transport Scheduling Duties
- Scheduling of orders for timely, cost effective and safe delivery of Metroll products and services.
- Confirm with clients that shed, long-load and special transport requests are proceeding at least 24 hours prior.
- Track availability and schedule deliveries based on driver, vehicle and subcontractor availability.
- Monitor drivers and transport provider completion of daily routes within the time allocated, following delivery SOP including proof of delivery photos, delivery docket signed/completed/photographed, daily driver time logs and driver pre-starts are submitted and reviewed with Transport Manager.
- Identify and report to Transport Manager excess hours and costs outside planned route time allocated, redelivery due to driver issues, damage to vehicle or damage to customer orders.
- Liaise with Transport Manager on all critical items and risks.
- Liaise and communicate with all departments including customer service, operations and despatch.
- Liaise with Loaders on missed/failed order loading and implement improvements.
- Follow Company Policy, Transport Legislation, Transport Regulations and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements.
- Understand vehicle capacities, capabilities and restrictions.
- Understand driver capabilities and ensure compliance within time allowance and vehicle license restrictions.
- Forward plan future deliveries or optimise loads/routes through bringing forward deliveries if confirmed by customers.
- Effective use of business software including PRONTO, Transport Allocation Software and other tools.
- Advise transport costs and availability to departments in conjunction with the Transport Manager.
- Support and work closely with the transport manager, despatch/customer service teams and loading teams to maintain an effective delivery service.

Financial Objectives
- Scheduling of cost effective delivery routes, minimising travel distance, driver hours and overall transport costs.
- Identify, reduce and report unplanned excess hours, time and costs. Report to Transport Manager.
- Minimise situations where redeliveries, damage or access issues may occur.
- Ensure compliant scheduling of vehicle types, loads and auxiliary items such as pilots are allowed.
- Improve business profitability through effective delivery services.

General Duties
- Schedule vehicle maintenance & repairs with drivers and mechanical services vendors.
- Collect, review and report on driver logs, pre-start checks, delivery documentation.
- Liaise with loaders and drivers on issues and improvements.
- Conduct audits of vehicles, drivers, routes, pre-starts and driver SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and delivery document completion under the guidance of the Transport Manager.
- Track vehicle repair/downtime for Transport Manager.
