**About the role**

We are looking for a Venue Support Officer to assist with the daily running of Council venues by delivering exceptional service to provide a positive and professional image of Council.

This position will be responsible for providing high quality and efficient venue support to the Civic and Community Facilities Business Unit as below:

- Maintain Council venues and assets in a clean, hygienic and well-presented condition for all events and at all times.
- Physically set up and pack up venues to ensure they meet hirer specifications.
- Provide and assist with AV support at events.
- Conduct tours, inspections and access handovers for all Facilities stakeholders and clients.

**About you**

**Selection of the most suitable applicant will be based on the following**:
Essential
- Diploma or Certificate in Events or Hospitality with little or no relevant work experience / skills, or through lesser formal qualifications with relevant work skills or through equivalent relevant experience and work skills delivering direct service and support to clients for functions or events.
- Experience working within a small team environment contributing to key group as well as individual work goals with flexibility to work approved overtime outside of normal hours and on weekends.
- Experience in setting up audio / visual, computer or sound system equipment per technical requirements of Civic and Community Facilities clients.
- Ability to physically set up rooms including moving tables and chairs.
- Ability to use a variety of MS software and Civic and Community Facilities booking systems.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills in order to communicate effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds and resolve minor problems.

Applicants must adequately meet the requirements of the role and fully address the selection criteria contained in the position description.

Applicants must provide a current Level 2 Workplace First Aid certificate, Working with Children Check, Victorian Drivers’ licence and use of a private vehicle along with the ability to travel to work across a range of facilities on a daily basis.

A satisfactory physical functional capacity assessment and satisfactory (ongoing) Police Check must be received prior to offer of employment and commencement.
