**Position Information**:
Located in Sydney's Inner West, Ashbury Public School (enrolment 373) has a committed and supportive staff who work in close partnership with actively involved parent and community groups.
Ashbury Public School has a diverse student population and a welcoming community environment. The school aims to engage and inspire students in their learning through extensive opportunities in academic, creative and sporting pursuits. A highly collaborative team of teachers utilise quality teaching practices, consistent high standards and shared teacher professional learning to build continual school improvement.
Student wellbeing underpins all school practices and is evidenced through programs such as positive behaviour for learning and restorative practices. There is an active student environmental group and the school has an established community garden. A range of well-developed performing arts and sporting opportunities are on offer for the students including an extensive extra-curricular program.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria;
- Approval to teach infants and/or primary with the ability to work collaboratively, lead with integrity and balance exemplary classroom teaching practices with the complex responsibilities of a school leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to use evidence and assessment data to both build the capacity of teachers to implement personalised teaching and learning strategies and support whole school evaluation and strategic planning.
- Proven ability to lead a team of teachers in the support of diverse student learning and wellbeing needs to deliver positive outcomes for all students.
- Experience in leading whole school student wellbeing practices and extra-curricular opportunities that foster a culture of inclusion and promote student engagement and achievement.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
