**The Role**:
Northern Imaging Victoria (NIV) was established in October 2023 and is the comprehensive medical imaging service of Northern Health. Northern Heart, was established in 2007, as a comprehensive cardiology department, providing cardiac catheterisation (inclusive of emergency primary PCI), echocardiography and electrophysiology/pacing services, for both in and outpatients. Northern Heart is strongly involved in clinical trials research with both local investigators initiated as well as with international multicentre trial groups. Northern Heart works in close collaboration and in conjunction with NIV. We are recruiting an experienced and motivated Cardiologist with cardiac imaging subspecialty skills including advanced echocardiography and cardiac CT to support service growth in these areas.

Our services are delivered across multiple Northern Health sites, with a focus on acute and emergency imaging and intervention at the Northern Hospital Epping which serves the busiest Emergency Department in Victoria. Outpatient services will be based at our new Broadmeadows Hospital imaging department with future expansion of services coming online at Craigieburn and Whittlesea Hospitals in 2024. Additional expansion at our Epping campus will also see the development of a new Emergency Department, inpatient tower and satellite Imaging department co-located with ED. We are a friendly, supportive and progressive department with a strong focus on pursuing clinical and academic excellence.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Primary medical qualification (MBBS, MB BCh, MD or equivalent) registrable with AHPRA with currency of practice and ongoing CPD participation.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Cardiology.
- Broad specialist knowledge and experience with all major aspects of echocardiography, inclusive of transthoracic echo, stress echo (treadmill and dobutamine), contrast echo and TOE.
- Broad specialist knowledge and experience in cardiac CT angiography with at least Level A accreditation (preferably Level B).
- Accreditation by the national committees (ie. CSANZ, RACP, Conjoint Committee for the Recognition of Training in CT Coronary Angiography).
- Ability to gain a Medicare provider number.
- Previous track record of academic research output including publications and presentations. A research higher degree (eg. Masters, PhD) would be advantageous.
- Previous track record of teaching or education activities.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in medical imaging service delivery.
- Demonstrated commitment to collaborative and multidisciplinary team work.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills that enable the development of professional relationships across a broad range of people.
- Commitment to excellence in medical imaging, research and medical education including training of junior and senior staff.
