An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Educator to join our Clinical Nursing Education Department (CNED), providing educational support to all staff working across HITH and Specialist Clinics, at both the Austin and Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital.

The Hospital in the Home program facilitates the shift of traditional acute care to the patient’s own home without compromising patient care. This care may take place via in-home nursing and support services, via video telehealth or via admission to the Hospital in the Home - Virtual ward, where higher acuity care can be provided in part through the utilisation of wearable technology. Within this dynamic field staff are highly skilled to perform a range of various treatments and procedures to best care for patients outside of the hospital environment.

Specialist Clinics at Austin provides planned non-admitted services that require the focus of an acute hospital services/ specialists to ensure the best outcome for a patient. These services are an important interface in the health system between tertiary hospital services and primary care services.
Specialist Clinics currently provides over 317,000 attendances per annum, making it one of the largest services in the state and largest services providers at Austin, across various campuses. The clinics provide access to:
Medical, Nursing and Allied Health professionals for assessment, diagnosis and treatment

Ongoing specialist management of chronic and complex conditions in collaboration with community providers pre-and post-hospital care, related diagnostic services such as pathology and imaging, teaching, training and research opportunities.

Specialist Clinics is on a journey of innovation, most recently implementing digital reform and continuous improvement projects aimed at improving efficiency across all areas of the business to enhance patient communications and experience.

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate a high level of clinical leadership and engagement of staff, have significant clinical experience and be able to work within a high functioning environment.
