**Who We Are**

The RPQ provides a range of quality services in road construction and maintenance. As a part of the Downer Group, RPQ employs over 300 staff and have a fleet of over 300 machines. RPQ operates out of locations spread over Queensland and New South Wales and boasts a high level of industry experience across our management, operational and support staff. As RPQ is owned by Downer EDI Limited (DOW) the company has experienced considerable growth over the last five years.

We are looking for a Foreperson to join our team based in Lismore. A Foreperson is a key position within our business that is responsible for overseeing Asphalt Crews in their duties laying bituminous and other paving material on roads, runways, parking areas and other surfaces to be paved.

**About you**

The successful applicant should have:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Civil Road Construction Industry
- Hold current licenses, certificates and competencies relevant to the position
- Give direction, delegate tasks while complying with safety, environmental and quality assurance practices
- Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills for teamwork
- Excellent communication skills and proven leadership qualities with the drive to develop your skills further
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.

**Responsibilities**
- Coordinating and prioritise duties on site
- Co-ordinate with Spotters and Traffic Control on site
- Ensure all necessary pre-start checks of plant and equipment are completed
- Ensure staff maintain and store tools, equipment and PPE to ensure a safe working condition
- Notify Supervisor of any faulty plant, tools or equipment
- Oversee housekeeping of plant, equipment and job site as required
- Monitor supply of general supplies, minor tools and equipment and notify Supervisor or management of any purchasing requirements
- Identifying job hazards, implement solutions or prevention of harm and share information with fellow team workers, management and QSE Manager
- Observe quality, environmental and workplace health & safety requirements on site and notify Supervisor of any incidents or non-conformance
- Oversee that documentation is completed accurately and submitted daily
- Ensure time sheet is filled in daily, checked & signed by Supervisor
- Ensure all Fuel Logs, dockets & credit card receipts are handed into the project office at least weekly
- Some after-hours work may be required for this role.
