- Beautiful scenic location Working within the Presbyterian & Methodist Schools Asscoiation and reporting to the on-site Camp Manager, you will be involved in ensuring that the site and facilities are maintained to a high standard and that all projects are completed in a timely manner. This is a hands-on role that will require daily involvement in site and facilities operations and tending to maintenance projects.
- In the Role You Will:
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of all camp facilities, including cabins, dining areas, recreational spaces, and administrative buildings.
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure the longevity of camp assets.
- Co-ordinate and supervise repairs, renovations, and construction projects as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations in all facilities.
- Liaise with Outdoor education specialist and Events Manager to readiness of facilities for incoming students and or events taking place at the camp.
- Manage and maintain all camp equipment, vehicles, and tools.
- Manage landscaping, ensuring a well-kept and aesthetically pleasing environment.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address equipment issues promptly.
- Collaborate with relevant vendors for equipment servicing and repairs.
- Work collaboratively with various staff and departments to ensure an excellent service is provided to guests and/or students and provide support where necessary to ensure a positive camp experience.
- Manage proper garbage and recycling program.
- Respond to emergencies and unexpected needs of guests and or students.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of maintenance and groundskeeping staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans related to facilities and infrastructure.
- Conduct regular safety drills and training for staff to ensure preparedness for various scenarios.
Budget and Planning
- Manage the facilities and maintenance budget in conjunction with the Senior Management
- Work closely with the Associate Director Assets and Property and administrative team to plan and prioritize projects based on camp needs and available resources.
Certification Requirements:
- A valid blue card (or willingness to obtain)
- Australian driver's license
- First Aid course/training
