**About the Role**
The Manager, Veterinary Education, is a pivotal figure in the Melbourne Veterinary School, reporting to the School Operations Manager and collaborating closely with the Director of Veterinary Education to enhance teaching support.
This is a dynamic, multifaceted role, involved in operationalizing support, ensuring accreditation compliance, providing leadership, and managing resources. Importantly, the position is responsible for overseeing the coordination of data and information required for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine’s accreditation with AVBC, RCVS, and AVMA, as well as providing support for the annual reports, self-evaluation reports and any other reports or surveys as required, in collaboration with Faculty of Science’s Strategy, Planning and Resources team.
The Manager will provide leadership to the Placements and Academic Support Team, Distributed Practice Relationship Coordinator, Clinical Teaching Support Team, and management of resources for teaching, including casual recruitment.
This position will be required to work from and travel between Werribee and Parkville campuses, and other locations where DVM teaching occurs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- **Strategy and Planning**: Work closely with the School Operations Manager, Director of Veterinary Education and various assistant directors in the teaching and learning portfolio to develop plans and assist in the delivery of learning and teaching initiatives
- **Accreditation compliance**: Coordinate and collate data and information to ensure compliance with accreditation requirements set forth by multiple accreditation bodies. Ensuring appropriate systems are in place to capture information required for accreditation reporting.
- **Team Leadership**: Provide leadership to the Placements and Academic Support Team, Distributed Practice Relationship Coordinator and Clinical Teaching Support Team.
- **Resource Management**: Oversee the management of resources dedicated to teaching, including budgetary responsibilities. Lead the recruitment and management of casual staff to support teaching activities. Performs the duties of a Gift Administration Officer, ensuring gifts are appropriately expended.
- **Collaboration**: Work in close collaboration with UoM Business Partners, Shared Services and Faculty of Science’s Student and Academic Services team to ensure success of the School’s teaching programme.
**Who We Are Looking For**
You will also have:
- A relevant postgraduate qualification with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and problem solving skills in a complex situation, ensuring best outcome to the school.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams with diverse range of work.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and to develop strong and productive relationships with diverse stakeholders, with evidence of critical thinking, influencing skills and negotiating to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to clearly present complex or technical information.
