**About the Role**

Our music tuition program at Tintern Grammar continues to expand. With this expansion, our current saxophone teacher has had to consolidate work across a few schools, and this has necessitated the re-advertisement of the position of Saxophone teacher with a much higher teaching load. Commencing Term 3, 2023 (immediately) Tintern Grammar is seeking an experienced, energised and enthusiastic teacher specialising in Saxophone to join us with a teaching and rehearsal load of 9.5 hours, i.e. over a full day of teaching, with room for further expansion into a second day. The successful applicant is expected to be organised, to make a positive contribution to the vibrant musical life of the school and work co-operatively as a member of our dynamic music teaching team. They will teach students on an individual and group basis, with the possibility of leading a Saxophone Ensemble or Junior Band, and must be able to relate to students across a range of ages in both the Primary and Secondary sections of the school. This load will increase with time.

**About You**

Applicants will be required to:

- Teach Saxophone on an individual and shared basis
- Keep accurate attendance rolls
- Prepare students for performances and examinations in accordance with both AMEB and VCE syllabi
- Enthuse and encourage students to participate in co-curricular music ensembles
- Communicate regularly with parents and prepare progressive reports to parents throughout the semester
- Assist with tutorials for large ensembles from time to time as required by the Director of Music or Head of Instrumental Performance
- Assist with preparation and presentation of events such as a Woodwind Concert, the Annual Music Concert, Small Ensembles Concert, Music Camp, Celebration Evening, and other performances as required
- Undertake other duties as determined by the Director of Music
