This is an exciting opportunity to join the SALHN Division of Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative care at the Repat Health Precinct as we unveil a new ward - Timor Ward 5 Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) Unit. The GEM Units provide comprehensive and responsive assessment, management, and care planning in consultation with the older person, their family, carers, and current community. Evidence based principles and interdisciplinary assessment allow for restoration and rehabilitation in addition to the management of medical conditions. Timor Ward 5 GEM will have a multi-disciplinary focus on supporting older persons with dementia to transition to suitable residential care facilities and will provide health care services unique to ageing.

As the Physiotherapist, you will the commitment to delivering high quality and safe care consistent and provide appropriate, safe, and effective physiotherapy management (assessment and treatment) of patients referred to the Timor Ward. You will ensure relevant physiotherapy information is provided by maintaining records (case notes and departmental) and statistical system in accordance with departmental guidelines. You will participate in provision of co-ordinated health care by liaising with medical, nursing, and other professional staff regarding patient care in meetings, ward rounds, clinics and providing written reports or other communications.

To be successful, you will have:

- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
- Physiotherapy skills in assessment and management of a broad range of conditions
- The ability to set priorities and manage one’s time effectively including the ability to supervise physiotherapy students and assistants.
- Skills and experience to commensurate with AHP2 peer assessment process requirements
