A wonderful opportunity exists for a **Counsellor** to join a dedicated school team here at Trinity College. The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge of counselling involving youth mental health across Junior (EY (reception to Year 6) and Middle Years (Year 7 to Year 10).

Each of our well-resourced schools have a comprehensive pastoral care programme for our students to support the health, wellbeing, and educational needs of all students.

This role's key responsibility will involve the provision of a 1.0 FTE counselling service to work with our students experiencing social and emotional concerns impacting their learning. An additional 0.2 counsellor is also part of this team in the junior school. Working closely as part of a team with Sub School Leaders, Pastoral Care and Youth Worker is key.

**To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes**:

- Tertiary counselling qualifications
- Excellent counselling knowledge and skills
- Ability to relate and work with young children and adolescents
- Knowledge of relevant support agencies
- Clear well established understanding of issues facing children and young adults
- Ability to develop and deliver programs to small groups of school students
- A strong commitment to Christian education
- Excellent administration skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people both verbally and in writing.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the necessary cultural sensitivity.

**An attractive salary is available to recruit a counsellor of the highest calibre. **This position is part of School Leadership team and a POR 1 allowance is afforded to this role. **Please note: this position is paid throughout the school holidays, however minimum work is required during this period for school counsellors.**
