**About the role**
As the driving force behind our dedicated Permit team, you'll be at the helm of ensuring seamless day-to-day operations while upholding the highest standards of service excellence for the esteemed Glen Eira City Council.

Your role will be pivotal in making critical decisions within regulatory frameworks, ensuring compliance with legislation, and fostering innovation in service delivery.

From overseeing development to managing projects across diverse services, you'll have the chance to drive forward initiatives that positively impact our staff and community.
- Other responsibilities include:_
- Maintaining protection of Council’s Road related and drainage assets during commercial or residential construction works through ensuring that Asset Protection permits are issued, and compliance is achieved.
- Developing and implementing proactive programs to ensure any bonds held by Glen Eira are refunded after completion of works.
- Coordinating Permits and Reinstatement teams including short
- and long-term planning to continually improve the Team’s efficiency and effectiveness.
- Reporting quarterly on team’s performance against corporate and business plan strategies, actions and organisational key performance indicators

**About you**

The following is also required:

- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Substantial experience in infrastructure maintenance and minor capital works. Alternatively, some experience in supervising such works with at least Certificate level qualifications relating to Construction or Asset Management.
- Victorian Car Driver’s Licence
- Proficient in the supervision of minor infrastructure maintenance and repair works including those relating to footpaths, drainage and roads.
- High level interpersonal skills and communication skills.
- Able to gain cooperation and assistance from clients, members of the public and other groups of employees.
