Community Activities Assistant

CareWays Community is a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing independent and progressive community services and social enterprises.

An exciting opportunity exists for a **Community Activities Assistant** in our Neighbourhood team, primarily based in Koonawarra NSW. This is an entry-level position, which assists in the facilitation of CareWays community programs and contributes to the development of programs, activities, information and referral to target groups, families and general community, ensuring they are in accordance with the philosophy, objectives, mission and values of CareWays.
- Tertiary Qualifications at Certificate level in Community Services, Youth work or mental health
- Exceptional written and verbal skills
- Computer literate in all MS Office suites
- Experience in Neighbourhood Centre direct service delivery
- Demonstrated experience in data collection, program evaluation and report writing
- Knowledge of relevant resources in the community
- Commitment to Principles of social justice, accountability, and transparency
- Ability to liaise with individuals at all levels and backgrounds
- Empathetic understanding of the client target groups, including indigenous and cultural groups
- Knowledge of relevant resources in the community
- Current full drivers’ licence and reliable vehicle
- COVID-19 Vaccination

This position is permanent part-time working 20 hours over multiple days per week.
