THE ROLE

Macquarie University Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic Café Assistant to assist in a broad range of hospitality activities including the preparation of food and beverages while delivering exceptional customer services to patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Accountabilities (but not limited to)- Preparation of food and beverages for patients, visitors, and staff in a timely manner with customer-centric approach.- Deliver excellent customer service for all customers of the Café and MUH- Assists with the orientation and support for new staff- Assists with completion of competency training, growth and development opportunities of self and others- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve team goals and the provision of excellence in service delivery.- Accurately complete required documentations in a timely manner and in compliance with MUH Policy.- Participates in audit preparation and auditing processes- Ensures all mandatory education and competencies are completed in a timely manner- Ensure usage of the MQ Health IT systems is in line with the authorisation granted to this position- Complies with obligations under Work Health and Safety Act 2012- Adheres to all MQ Health values, policies, and procedures as well as legislation affecting food hygiene and cleanliness standards HACCP- Participates in Departmental Quality Assurance and Continuous Quality Improvement projects.- Oversee all aspect of WHS including accident report, review and evaluate reported incidents and risk management in accordance with MUH Policy.- Evaluates performance in a planned and systematic way and seeks feedback from customers in relation to the service delivered by the unit- Seeks out guidance and support from appropriate individuals/groups as required- Performs other duties as directed by the Hospital Café Manager

- Previous hospitality experience, preferably food and beverage.- Experienced in delivering exceptional customer services to a diverse range of clients.- Demonstrated high level of proactiveness and taking initiatives.- Excellent communication skill both written and verbal.- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team as well as autonomously.
