**About the Role**

The Research Fellow will contribute to the research efforts of UniSA STEM, in particular will undertake research on the project titled “Using 14C labelling in ecotoxicology assays to ensure relevance and better assess the impact of PFAS in the marine environment” with Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP).

**Core Responsibilities**
- Conduct high-quality marine ecotoxicology research independently or under limited supervision and in collaboration with industry and other stakeholders
- Develop safe experimental and field procedures in accordance university policies and act as laboratory manager and safety coordinator for the marine ecology laboratory in STEM
- Design, perform and record experimental work, and communicate research outcomes in both verbal and written form
- Ensure delivery of project’s research milestones, objectives and work programs are met on time, within budget and to the industry partner’s satisfaction
- Develop a record of independent research that results in high-quality publications

**Essential Skills and Experience**
- A PhD qualification in in Ecotoxicology, Marine Science, Environmental Chemistry or related field
- Demonstrated experience designing and running laboratory-based ecotoxicology assays with marine or aquatic biota and analysing ecotoxicology data
- Experience working with organic contaminants including PFAS and/or radio-labelled compounds
- A commitment to safe working practice and willingness to act as laboratory manager and safety coordinator
