Be a part of the Local Council as a Bushland Technician, work within a team environment and assist the Council's Bushland Crew in the daily maintenance of Bushland reserves, including weed control, brush cutting, pruning, revegetation and associated landscape works.
- 2-month contract (with possible extension)
- 8:30am-5pm Monday to Friday
- 38 hours per week

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Work within a team environment to assist with the day-to-day maintenance of the Local Council Bushland Reserves including weed control, brush cutting, pruning, revegetation and associated landscape works.
- Perform general bushland maintenance works including but not limited to weeding, spraying, planting, and watering.
- Operate a range of mechanical equipment and plant associated with bushland regeneration and general horticultural operations, including brush cutters, spray packs, hand tools etc.
- Undertake works in accordance with Council Management Plans and specifications related to bushland sites and reserves.
- Operate and maintain a range of mechanical equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Work directly with other Bushland Technicians ensuring a high standard of work is achieved in the designated bushland areas.
- Provide input via team meetings and general discussions on methods and safe procedures in general bushland maintenance and natural resource management.
- Interact with members of the public in a positive and courteous manner.

**Requirements and Qualifications**:

- Undertake demanding outdoor physical work related to bushland maintenance tasks.
- Move on foot over rough ground in bushland areas, road verges, and public open space.
- National Criminal History Check.
- Working with Children Check.
- Functional Assessment (Physio/Medical Examination)
- Good native and pest plant identification skills or willingness to learn.
- Understanding of weeds found in the area.
- Experience with a range of plant equipment including brush cutter and spray pack.
- Agricultural Chemical Users Certificate.
- Current Victorian Driver Licence.
- Current Certificate in First Aid is desirable.
- Certificate IV in Conservation and Land Management or related discipline, or relevant experience is desirable.
- Current Ag Vet Chemical Users Certificate is desirable.
