**About the role**
We seek a natural relationship builder, who enjoys delivering a high level of supporter experience. They will support the Philanthropy Manager in executing set strategies from data led analysis to achieve both financial and non-financial goals.
As a Philanthropy Specialist you will be integral to achieving or exceeding donation revenue targets. You will do this by building the deep engagement and relationships we have with existing partners and key supporters. This role makes a direct and significant contribution towards the ability for Baptist World Aid to partner with overseas organisations in community development, disaster projects and more. This role is supporter focused.

**Desired Skills and Experience**:
**About you**
You may be working in a relationship management or account management role, philanthropy or major giving role and are looking to use your skills and experience to impact our world in a tangible way. As a Christian you will share our vision for a better world for all and you will have experience in these areas;
**Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience**
- Experience in developing relationships with high net worth individuals, and crafting and implementing relationship/philanthropic strategies and communication plans
- Demonstrated success in closing gift solicitations, ideally at the six-to seven-figure level
- Experience in Microsoft Office including advanced skills in Excel and an ability to understand and interpret data reports and large data sets
- Proficiency with donor/customer databases for analysis and managing supporter information and financial details.
- Experience within the not for profit / for purpose sector
- Understanding of best practice relationship-based fundraising
- Ability to work in a cross-functional structure
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding targets
- Be well connected, networked and respected in your city and community
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Strong team player who can collaborate with a range of people to achieve shared results
- High level of financial literacy and project management skills
- The ability to work with experience and passion from a suitable home setup if working remotely
- The availability and willingness to travel to Head Office in Sydney several times per year if you are based away from Sydney Head Office.
**Desirable knowledge Skills and Experience**
- Existing networks in the Christian community across Australia and understanding of/ experience in the Baptist context
- Understanding of and/or desire to learn about the international aid and development sector and of Christian principles in development
- Experience in a Philanthropy role or other fundraising or sales experience with a track record of success
- A passion for continual learning and improvement
- Understanding of the discretion and confidentiality required when engaging with large donations and high net worth individuals
- Driver's license
