In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial health of the business by managing and optimising the accounts payable and receivable processes. Attention to detail, analytic skills, and ability to communicate effectively will be a crucial contribution to the overall success of the finance department.
The responsibilities will include:
**Accounts Payable**:
- Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary approvals for payment processing.
- Manage and organise vendor accounts, fostering positive relationships with suppliers.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment disbursements, including preparing and processing electronic transfers and checks.
- Assist in resolving invoice discrepancies and payment issues in a proactive and efficient manner.
**Accounts Receivable**:
- Generate and issue customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor and reconcile customer accounts, identifying and addressing discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
- Process and post customer payments, allocating funds appropriately.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and coordinate with clients to resolve outstanding issues.
- Prepare and analyse ageing reports to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.
**General Finance Support**:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Collaborate with the finance team to implement process improvements and enhance efficiency.
- Provide support during financial audits by ensuring all necessary documentation is readily available.
**The Successful Applicant**:
To be successful, you will require:
- Proven experience in accounts payable and/or receivable roles.
- Strong understanding of accounts principles and financial processes.
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
