- Artega is a technology led investment administration business offering front, middle and back office services to investment managers and asset owners in Australia and Asia. The business currently supports over $100Bn for its clients and has 140 staff located in Sydney and London. The business utilises the SimCorp Dimension software as its core technology platform._
Role Purpose:
Working in the Investment Operations - Portfolio Accounting team, you will help administer the funds and portfolios for the Challenger Life and Funds Management businesses.
Role Responsibilities:
Accountable for all Middle Office responsibilities connected to the portfolios assigned to you including:
- Provide daily cash and position clearance to front office
- Cash management to ensure accounts do not go into overdraft
- Investigate and provide daily commentary all cash, asset reconciliation breaks and bank overdrafts. Liaise with internal and external team for the timely resolution.
- Calculation of daily unit price for applicable funds (domestic and global equity and fixed income)
- Calculation of management and performance fees for mandates
- Ensure month end clearance tasks (cash/assets/valuations) are completed within required timeframe
- Liaise with Front Office for new account setups, inspecie transfers and/or adhoc queries
- Group inbox management - ensure adhoc queries from internal and external clients are answered within required timeframe
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Assess current processes with a view to making changes to increase efficiency, reduce risk and improve service delivery
- Work on ad-hoc projects as required from time to time
Role Requirements:
- An understanding of Fixed Interest, Equity and Derivatives
- Understanding of accounting for and valuing financial instruments
- Understanding of various payment systems including Swift and banking and custodial systems
- Understanding of fund structures, interfunding relationships
- As applicable to the role, a working knowledge of the corporate regulatory environment, governance principles, corporate accountability and conduct frameworks and the process for managing risk
- 2-5 years experience working in the finance/funds management industry with exposure to various products such as Fixed Interest/OTC/FX/Equities etc
- Must show experience in complex cash and asset reconciliations
