**Welcome to the Primary Connect Safety Team
As the Safety Management & Governance Lead for the South West Region, you will support Distribution Centres throughout Victoria, South Australia & Western Australia, as well as the Primary Connect+ and Store Delivery transport teams. There will be regular (not often) interstate travel for this role.

You will be accountable for the development, implementation and auditing of the Primary Connect Safety, Wellbeing and Environment (SWE) Safety Management System. You will coach and support operational managers to embed the Safety Management System at their site, to help ensure our teams think safe, work safe and are home safe. You will also support the rollout of associated programs and initiatives, in line with the annual SWE Strategic Plan.

In addition, you will play a key role in delivering an assurance program for external Primary Connect partners to ensure their compliance with relevant legislation, standards, obligations and contractual requirements.

This position is instrumental in partnering with operations, transport and the SWE team members to drive change and deliver continuous improvement programs.

**What you’ll do
- Support site teams to achieve compliance in the implementation of policies, procedures and processes to minimise risks
- Provide expert leadership, mentoring and guidance to ensure that safety standards and legislative requirements are met
- Deliver the Primary Connect Safety, Wellbeing & Environment assurance and governance program by conducting first line assurance activities and support the close out of non-conformities
- Support the site and transport teams with second and third line audit activities including the close out of non-conformities
- Partner with the Transport Safety team to lead and conduct assurance activities on external partiesSupport the implementation, continuous improvement and maintenance of the Safety Management System

**What you’ll bring
- Coaching and mentoring your peers and on-site management
- Experience in auditing, leading, supporting and influencing a variety of key stakeholders
- Experience working in self-insured organisations
- Strong knowledge and experience working with WHS/OHS frameworks
- Strong analysis and problem solving skills / analysing trends
- Business writing and reporting experienceFormal qualifications in HS&W or related field & Lead Auditor qualification (desirable)
