Teacher Generalist

**School Context**

Finigan School of Distance Education is a ‘purpose-built’ K-12 distance education school located in Queanbeyan NSW. The school has 95 fulltime equivalent teaching staff and 800 enrolments. Students are supported with live online lessons and quality independent elearning experiences. The school has 7 learning hubs located across south-eastern NSW where students are able to access face-to-face teacher support.

Finigan SDE is an equity provision for many students. We provide quality individualised learning programs for students who meet the criteria of one or more of the distance education enrolment categories.

**Position Description**

This opportunity is to join the school’s Supported Learning Faculty. Expertise is required to design course programmes across Stages 4 and 5 curriculum content, building on student capacities to develop confident and capable learners.

This position requires staff to work onsite at Finigan School of Distance Education in Queanbeyan, NSW.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Approval or willingness to teach as a secondary general teacher. Capacity to collaboratively plan and deliver quality literacy, numeracy and transition intervention programs for a diverse range of students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work with a collaborative team, building positive, inclusive, trusting relationships with students, parents, staff, external agencies and the wider community to improve outcomes for students.
- Proven experience in developing a culture of inclusion in a positive learning environment, enhancing the needs of students with varying academic, behavioural and social needs to improve engagement and sense of belonging.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing evidence based, personalised/group teaching, learning and behaviour programs that set high expectations and engage students with additional needs.
