**About - Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning**

The Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning is the leading educational and research institution in the Asia-Pacific region addressing the design and realisation of environments. It actively seeks to extend the linkages between education, research and practice in the built environment, and maintains excellent and extensive relationships with members of the built environment professions, government, professional associations and the wider community.

The Faculty has over 200 staff and 3000 students, one third of whom are international. It is responsible for the undergraduate Bachelor of Design degree, and offers majors in architecture, landscape architecture, property, construction, and urban planning.

The Faculty’s graduate school, the Melbourne School of Design (MSD), teaches accredited masters courses across the professional disciplines of Architecture, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Property, Urban Design and Urban Planning.

**About the Role**

Responsibilities include:

- Successfully prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, and/or studios at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Undertake consultation with students and marking and assessment as appropriate.
- Supervise honours and graduate students and major graduate research projects as required.

With a focus on sustainability, ethical practices, and community-oriented outcomes, this role provides an exciting platform to shape the future of property education and contribute to global challenges.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to effectively engage with students, colleagues, industry professionals, and community members. You will demonstrate a strong passion for teaching and a student-centered approach, fostering critical thinking and meaningful engagement with societal challenges. Additionally, you will exhibit adaptability, creativity, and a collaborative mindset to contribute to interdisciplinary teaching and research initiatives within the faculty.

You will also have:

- A PhD or equivalent folio of research and industry experience in an appropriate field
- Demonstrated teaching experience and skills with a passion for undergraduate and graduate teaching
- Research excellence commensurate with opportunity as demonstrated by a record of quality refereed research publications
- Potential for initiating and participating in collaborative research programs, commensurate with the position and level, within the Faculty, regionally and globally.
