First Grade has partnered with a prominent Commonwealth Government Department to source an SES Band 1, Branch Head, within their People Division.
**The Branch**
The People Branch is responsible for the department's strategic and operational HR advice, strategies and support services, with a focus on enabling business areas to meet their workforce needs.
People Branch is responsible for:
- Inclusion
- Learning and Development and Talent Management
- Onboarding and SAP Payroll
- Recruitment and Employment Programs
- SES Unit
- Workforce Planning, HR Reporting and Establishments
- Workforce Relations (including enterprise bargaining)
**The Role**
As the Branch Head leading the People Branch, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational HR advice, guidance and leadership to stakeholders operating in unique and complex environments.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Providing high level advice and support to Senior Executive and the department to ensure legislative obligations, departmental priorities and objectives are met
- Leading, delivering and/or implementing various HR strategies and Frameworks including but not limited to the People Strategy, Inclusion Strategy, Workforce Plan and a Capability Framework
- Overseeing the coordination of the department's enterprise agreement bargaining and other HR internal working groups and committees
- Engaging with key external and departmental committees, forums, and meetings and forming productive working relationships with key stakeholders
- Leading your branch and teams while actively building effective, robust and collaborative relationships and capabilities
- Promoting integrity practices by displaying a high level of ethical behaviour in accordance with the APS Code of Conduct, APS Values and APS Employment Principles
- Leading in a manner that is consistent with the Secretaries Charter of Leadership Behaviours (be Dynamic, be Respectful, have Integrity, Value others and Empower people)
