Vocational Training Queensland (VTQ) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) owned by the Department of Education. VTQ supports over 70 organisations in supporting learners of various educational needs. The primary purpose of VTQ is to deliver both accredited and non-accredited training to at-risk youth to improve literacy and numeracy skills to increase pathway options. Currently, the scope of registration has four qualification levels of the Certificate in General Education for Adults (CGEA). VTQ also provides four levels of non-accredited prevocational training focused on literacy and numeracy skills.
The position will be based at our parent campus, Brisbane Youth Education and Training Centre; however, the ability to travel will be advantageous as VTQ staff train and visit our partner sites throughout the state. This role offers each teacher a unique and exciting opportunity to deliver education differently and to join a highly functional, cohesive and supportive team.
**Highly desirable**:
- Degree qualifications in Teaching, Maths and/or English.
- Demonstrated experience in writing learning and assessment materials, focused on literacy and numeracy skills development.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in mapping LL&N courses to VET and school curriculum requirements.
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience teaching literacy and numeracy programs to diverse groups.
