**What you'll be doing**:

- Provide high-level management of services in a region to ensure they operate efficiently, cost effectively and contribute to a robust quality early years' service system. The services include Preschool, Long Day Child Care, Three-year-old activity programs and Occasional Care
- Ensure adherence to performance and outcome targets and indicators and compliance with internal and external reporting requirements
- Work in collaboration with other members of the Family, Youth and Children's Services Leadership Team to contribute to the identification and implementation of strategic directions and achievement of goals and actions identified in the whole Family, Youth and Children's Services Department portfolio areas
- Support the development of systems, policies, procedures and practice guidelines and, within a region, ensure implementation, compliance and consistency of practice
- Provide leadership and support to Regional Team Leader/s, implement strategic planning objectives and establish frameworks for staff development and performance
- Foster a commitment to a customer service culture, ensuring high standards of communication and cooperation within the unit and emphasises shared accountability for satisfying recipient needs
- Ensure administration systems are efficient and produce statistical data required for planning and monitoring purposes in a timely fashion including maintenance of the accuracy and integrity of the computerised childcare database
- Provide opportunities for families to participate in service planning activities in a manner that is valued and recognises individual family needs, relationships, and cultural backgrounds
- Develop and monitor regional budgets and follow Council financial procedures including analysing and reporting results and variances
- Work as a member of the Family, Youth and Children's Services Leadership Team and the broader organisation to design appropriate change management and implementation plans in response to the early years reform agenda timelines and critical milestones
- Develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with program partners and other stakeholders/potential stakeholders.

**Key skills and experience you'll bring to the role**:

- Experience in leading multiple teams along with evidence of stakeholder partnerships and budget management
- Strong knowledge of Child Safe Standards, Mandatory reporting and Reportable conduct
- Knowledge of Early years frameworks and early years reforms
- Preference for a degree and experience in Early Childhood Development or a diploma qualification with extensive relevant experience
- Proven experience in the operation of an integrated early years' service or similar field with a demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, supervise and support staff
- Experience in developing and implementing programs, policies, systems and strategies
- Ability to use a range of relevant computer software programs including Microsoft Office
- Maintenance of all relevant skills, certificates and licenses to meet regulatory compliance when working as part of the staff child ratio backfilling breaks or other shifts as required
- To be prepared to act as person with management of control of approved services in accordance with National and Victorian Law requirements.
