**Join our professional and supportive Geriatric Medicine team as a Consultant.**

As a Geriatric Consultant, you will work across the 3 hospitals and community settings in the region on a rotating basis. The Department of Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care has a national reputation in the area of geriatric rehabilitation in particular in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal (Falls and Injury Prevention and Amputees) and memory disorders.

You will provide service/peer leadership in line with the Division RAP purpose and impact; promoting the values within the Divisional Way for every patient, family and colleague encounter:

**About the Role**:
As the Consultant, your duties may include:

- providing appropriate specialist level care to patients
- coordinating the follow up care of patients
- providing clinical supervision to Senior Medical Practitioners, Trainee Medical Officers and Medical Students
- contributing to an after-hours on-call service in accordance with a roster agreed by the Department Director
- overseeing the smooth functioning of the clinical area when on shift

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- A Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
- Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration (Geriatric Medicine); or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award- Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.-
- Extensive clinical experience relevant to work in Rehabilitation MedicinePlease see the attached Role Description for additional information.
