The opportunity

An exciting junior opportunity in Group Compliance, within QBE’s Global Compliance & Risk Function, has become available. University graduates with 2-3 years’ experience in Compliance are encouraged to apply. Your new role

In this role, you will strategically support the global QBE Insurance business through the implementation of the compliance strategy which includes:
- Support the maintenance of the Group Compliance Mandatory Training Framework.- Assist with change management activities for group compliance led initiatives and projects for mandatory training.- Proactive monitoring of all Group Compliance mandatory training courses.- Develop completion tracking reports for Group Compliance mandatory training courses.- Participate in global compliance working groups and committees.- Secretarial duties for committee meetings: develop packs for quarterly meetings, produce meeting minutes, maintain action log and Terms of Reference.- Collaborating across both Group and Divisional compliance teams to develop, review and embed policies, standards and procedures. Policy areas include Sanctions, Anti-money laundering, Conflict Management, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Gifts and Entertainment.- Provide information, advice and support on compliance policy and issues to ensure internal stakeholders are up-to-date and are aware of key issues.- Develop and implement Compliance communications and training to support understanding, adherence to Compliance policies and understanding of emerging areas of compliance risk.- Assist with global regulatory horizon scanning / regulatory change.

About you- Degree in law/business/commerce.- Compliance and/or risk management experience is essential.- Understanding of the global regulatory environment surrounding general insurance / financial services.- Knowledge of key compliance risk concepts and risk management frameworks is preferrable.- Experience (or aptitude for) maintaining and developing risk and compliance systems / technology.- Strong analytical skills / intermediate to advanced Excel skills.- Strong report writing skills / intermediate to advanced MS Office skills.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to build good working relationships and stakeholder management.- Someone who can get things done but is also a thinker - not afraid to challenge and propose better and smarter ways to do things
