The Assistant Business Manager Chief of Staff Navy Headquarters (COS NHQ) will have responsibilities that include:

- Provide support to ensure compliance and sound governance of COS NHQ business, financial and administration functions.
- Manage the staff in the Office of the Chief of Navy and Navy Headquarters Registry.
- Undertake the administrative processes associated with Navy Reserve Management.
- Perform Security Officer functions.
- Assist with Navy Accommodation requirements in the ACT.
- Foster good relationships across Navy, other services, groups and Government Agencies.
- Perform governance and assurance functions over business and financial activities.

**About our Team**
The functions performed by the COS NHQ Business Team directly contribute to "Outcome 5 Provide the required enablers and oversight to achieve Navy outcomes".

There is a strong focus on governance, compliance, risk management, security and assurance.

Duties of an APS 6 Administration Officer occupation in Defence include the following (note: not all duties are required to be performed during a 12 month performance cycle):

- Coordinate administrative and business support activities for a team and other work areas, identify risks and determine appropriate course of action to meet stakeholder needs.
- Accountable to perform complex procedural, operational, administrative and business support activities and tasks that support the delivery of outcomes across Defence.
- Engage and negotiate with stakeholders on complex issues to achieve business outcomes.
- Work collaboratively, build and sustain effective relationships and provide constructive feedback.
- Take the initiative to progress work to meet business objectives, provide advice and guidance on more complex issues.
- Resolve problems and implement alternative courses of action.
- Accountable to develop and implement procedural, operational, corporate, administrative and business support documentation consistent with business requirements.
- Group Operating budget financial management, including financial systems functions
- The ability to convert data and information into valuable reports and/or advice
- Refined and collegiate communication and engagement skills
- Contract & procurement skills
- Knowledge and experience in records management
- Security & business administration.
