This is a fantastic opportunity for a person passionate about the community to make allocations to social and affordable housing vacancies.
Main Duties

This position will report to the Tenancy Services Manager who is responsible for leading a large team to make allocations to social and affordable housing vacancies. The role will also include administrative functions.

**Key Responsibilities will include**:
Arrange and conduct intake and assessment interviews with applicants
Liaise and work with the appropriate teams in respect to the suitability applicants, property and location
To update and maintain records in relation to the allocations process, including collection of data and reporting
Undertake quality allocation and offer processes in line with organisational standards to create sustainable tenancies
Liaise with the Property & Assets Manager in relation to the operation and maintenance of the properties to identify and report emerging issues

What skills should YOU have?

Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse range of clients Knowledge of the statutory, regulatory and contractual frameworks social housing providers operate within
Experience in and a commitment to the provision of high quality direct services to clients
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills
A commitment to the principles of equity of access and cultural diversity

Essential Criteria

Demonstrated experience of tenancy and housing management
Good organisational skills, including the ability to maintain accurate records
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact sensitively with vulnerable people
Ability to work effectively as a team member and ability to work independently when required
Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting the Aboriginal and ATSI community particularly in regards to transience and homelessness, cultural awareness and sensitivities
Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with people from a wide range of social-economic, multicultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
