Compliance Officer

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the company’s operations and services comply with the standards and regulations set by the NDIS. Your role will involve monitoring and evaluating the organization's compliance with NDIS policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to people with disabilities.

**TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT**:
Full Time, Permanent part-time, casual.

**REPORT TO**:
Operations Manager

**LOCATION**:
Royalty Healthcare office, Strathpine.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- **NDIS Compliance Oversight**

Stay updated with the latest NDIS legislation, guidelines, and policies.

Develop and implement compliance strategies to align the company’s operations with NDIS requirements.

Monitor and assess the company's compliance with NDIS standards and regulations.

Identify areas of non-compliance and develop corrective action plans.
- **Policy and Procedure Development**

Stay updated with the latest NDIS legislation, guidelines, and policies.

Develop and implement compliance strategies to align the organization's operations with NDIS requirements.

Monitor and assess the organization's compliance with NDIS standards and regulations.

Identify areas of non-compliance and develop corrective action plans.
- **Staff Training and Education**

Conduct training sessions to educate staff members about NDIS standards, policies, and procedures.

Provide guidance and support to staff regarding compliance-related matters.

Develop and deliver training programs to enhance staff understanding of compliance obligations.
- **Auditing and Reporting**

Conduct internal audits to assess compliance levels and identify areas for improvement.

Prepare and submit regular compliance reports to management, highlighting any areas of concern or improvement opportunities.

Collaborate with external auditors during NDIS compliance audits.
- **Risk Management**

Identify potential compliance risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.

Conduct risk assessments to ensure compliance-related risks are identified and addressed.

Implement controls and monitoring mechanisms to mitigate compliance risks.
- **Stakeholder Management**

Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as NDIS representatives and auditors, to address compliance-related queries and concerns.

Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders, including management and staff, regarding compliance matters.

**QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS**:

- Having a tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Business administration, Healthcare management, social work) is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of the NDIS framework, standards, and regulations.
- Experience working in a compliance-related role, preferably within the disability services sector.
- Strong understanding of policy and procedure development and implementation.
- Current Criminal Record Check and First Aid Certificate
- Cert III Individual Support, Mental Health, Community Services, Disability Work, or similar and higher qualification.
- Driver’s License
- Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle
- Smart phone

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum 6 months relevant experience
- Experience supporting People with Disability.
- Demonstrated Continuing Professional Development.
- Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles

**SKILLS**:

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and conflict management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: $33.00 - $40.00 per hour
