To support us on this journey, we are seeking a dynamic individual to lead our Duke of Edinburgh program, recognising and nurturing the diverse talents of Canterbury College students and fostering an environment that builds confidence, self-esteem, and resilience amongst our students.
**Your role**:
The Duke of Edinburgh Coordinator will be responsible for the planning, organisation, and delivery of the Duke of Edinburgh Award program at Canterbury College. This role involves overseeing and supporting senior school student participants in the Duke of Edinburgh program and collaborating closely with the team to expand the program, promoting holistic student growth beyond the classroom.
**Responsibilities Include**:
- Coordinate and oversee the Duke of Edinburgh program including overseeing student goals across the four categories.
- Collaborate with external agencies to plan adventurous journey experiences and assist students to liaise with external organisations e.g. charities that students would be volunteering for.
- Work closely with co-curricular staff to enhance the profile and visibility of the Duke of Edinburgh Award program and its participants within the school community.
- Recruit, train and support Duke of Edinburgh participants and nominees.
- Track and monitor the progress of participants, providing regular guidance and encouragement to help them achieve their awards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students, parents, and Duke of Edinburgh Award staff.
- Liaise with parents, guardians, and staff to provide clear communication and support regarding the Duke of Edinburgh program.
- Manage logístical aspects of the program, including equipment procurement, transportation, accommodation, and budgeting, to ensure smooth and effective program delivery.
- Manage the Duke of Edinburgh online record book and website, ensuring that all participant records are accurate, up-to-date, and comply with program requirements.

- Have a demonstrated ability to contribute to the diverse extracurricular program of the College.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Have an active interest in, and commitment to the education and success of our students.
- Proven ability to conduct oneself in a way which develops personal respect, respect for the College and the teaching profession.
**Essential Qualifications**:
- Have a current Positive Notice Blue Card, or the ability to obtain one. (or have Queensland College of Teachers Registration)
