**About the Role**

This role will engage with business stakeholders throughout the Department on behalf of SRS to plan and execute procurement initiatives, with a focus on achieving high quality, fit for purpose sourcing outcomes that will deliver quality, efficiency and value, aligned with SRS strategic objectives.

This role will be responsible for identifying strategic procurement opportunities through category management, development of market engagement strategy and strategic support throughout the market engagement, and will handle supplier negotiations through to contract award, including supplier engagement and delegate approval. This role will also take the lead on developing and delivering SRS’ social procurement strategy.

In addition to driving value for money, this role will be responsible for contributing to the ongoing development of the SRS procurement strategy (in a predominantly construction works and services context), supporting and coordinating process improvement initiatives and procurement reform, stakeholder relationship management and ensuring compliance with DTP procurement policy and Ministerial Directions for Public Construction.

- Plan and deliver end-to-end sourcing activities across a broad range of categories that meet the business needs of SRS, deliver value for money to DTP and comply with relevant DTP policy, ensuring practices are commensurate with SRS’ role as an internal provider.
- Undertake selected category and contract management activities including category and contract analysis, development and delivery of procurement strategy, monitoring of supplier performance, engaging with contract business owners and proactively identifying improvement opportunities
- Work collaboratively and partner with the internal and DTP stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and reform initiatives and work to identify and implement suitable best practice approaches.
- Measure and report on procurement outcomes achieved including financial cost savings, performance improvements and other sustainable business benefits, including performance against social procurement targets and strategies.
- Provide expert Procurement advice and support to stakeholders, often within demanding timeframes.
- Develop and edit key procurement documentation; participate in developing complex briefs and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language, and ensuring appropriate styles and formats are used.

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Mandatory**
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification and/or relevant experience to the role.

**Desirable**
- Experience in supporting the implementation of the Social Procurement Framework, Local Jobs First and the Fair Jobs Code
- Experience in supporting a procurement environment compliant with VGPB and Ministerial Directions for Public Construction
- Driver’s License
- Ability and willingness to travel and work across locations within metropolitan and regional Victoria.
