Demonstrated ability to reflect upon their own, others and whole-school practice and contribute to the provision of whole-school professional learning.
**Role**:
At North Geelong Secondary College the Sub-School Leader is an outstanding classroom teacher and a key member of the leadership and management team within the curriculum program. The Leading Teacher is forward looking and visionary in leading and managing the details of this position by demonstrating and modelling outstanding skills, knowledge and performance.
As the leader of a team or teams with a high degree of independence within the college, the Leading Teacher is responsible and accountable to the College's Strategic Plan in relation to student welfare, wellbeing and management. The Leading Teacher has a College focus and an appreciation of the culture of the College and its community. He or She also has a responsibility for curriculum programs in their specific sub-school. (Junior, Middle and Senior Sub-schools)
The Leading Teacher will work with relevant key stakeholders and report to the College Principal.

**Responsibilities**:
The responsibilities of this position will be:
- The Leading Teacher is a member of the NGSC Leadership Team
- Overall, lead the designated sub-school
- Lead, plan, implement and evaluate a positive culture of Learning & Teaching, well-being, engagement and connectedness appropriate to the sub-school cohort (Junior, Middle or Senior) in line with College values and high expectations
- Review and update relevant sub-school programs and extra-curricular activities to ensure delivery of a consistent delivery of the NGSC documented curriculum and Teaching and Learning framework ie. SEAL, ACE, STAR, Excellence in Sports, VCE / VM, VPC, VET, Leadership camps and other SRC and associated activities
- Lead the particular sub-school Level and Assistant Year Level Coordinators, relevant Home Group Teachers, Wellbeing Officers and other key stakeholders to assess the ongoing performance of students
- Lead the sub-school by example, ensuring a consistent curriculum delivery, including HITS, implement peer observations, invite staff to observe you and provide activities aimed at building and strengthening Teacher/Student relationships
- Use student data to create conversations with students and staff, referencing the school’s AIP and SSP to ensure learning growth
- Work together with key stakeholders to plan, implement and evaluate the NGSC semester exams
- Work closely with the PCOs, School Operations Manager and oversee the adjustment of student timetables as required during the year
- Ensure the ongoing development and implementation of the Personal Learning domain and appropriate Wellbeing Programs of students
- Communicate regularly with parents, other relevant key stakeholders or members of the community re: Programs, student improvement and outcomes
- Coordinate tasks related to leadership of students, for example, monitor student attendance, run assemblies, implement college student management and welfare policies and practices, check student repo
