**About the opportunity**
An excellent career opportunity exists within our Rating Services team for a highly motivated and committed person to fill the role of Rates Administrator Part Time (3 Days/14 hours per week).
The successful applicant will be responsible for a broad range of rating functions including assistance with subdivision rating duties, debt recovery, remittances, counter and telephone enquiries, monthly reconciliations, general ledger maintenance and other rating duties as directed. It is expected that the successful applicant possess experience in and knowledge of accounts/rates operations or a Certificate in a relevant field such as Accounts, Finance or Business Administration, sound computer skills, and a strong commitment to customer service. Applicants for this position will also demonstrate good communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines, a strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
**Qualifications and experience**
**Essential**:
- Experience in and knowledge of accounts/rates operations or a Certificate in a relevant field such as Accounts, Finance or Business Administration
- Current class C driver’s licence.
**Desirable**:
- Good understanding of Local Government Rating policy and procedures
- Demonstrated experience using computer software programs including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Availability to work flexible working hours.
**Remuneration and benefits**
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,396.13 per week (pro-rata)
- 14 hour working week over 3 days
- Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
