**About the Role**

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated and highly regarded team making a significant difference in meeting the conservation outcomes for the National Parks and Wildlife service (NPWS).

As a Pest Officer, you will be responsible for facilitating pest animal and weed management programs across the South Coast Branch, to achieve effective management of pest species in South Coast Branch. You will collaborate with operational staff and stakeholders to deliver results and improve the way we plan and implement the management of pest species across our national parks. You’ll have assist with planning and undertaking pest programs, lead compliance activities around pesticides and record keeping, and work with other government agencies and local communities to deliver key pest programs. A key function of this role is to oversee the Branch’s firearms and pesticides management and use and ensure we meet our regulatory and organisational obligations to safely manage operational risks.

**About You**

**Essential Requirements**
- Tertiary qualification (Bachelor level or above) in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management or related disciplines or experience
- Ability and willingness to participate in incident control operations, and willingness to fly in light aircraft.
- A current Australian driver’s licence
- Current NSW Firearms License or the ability to obtain one
