**_The Opportunity_**
Northern Star Resources are seeking motivated and trade passionate individuals to join our Operational Technology Team as an Apprentice in 2025. Opportunities available residential in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder area.

**_The Role_**
Reporting to the Communications Supervisor, your primary focus as an Apprentice Communications Technician, will be to listen and learn from your experienced team, and to help ensure all maintenance, implementation and upgrading of OT and critical communications infrastructure are executed in a safe and efficient manner, and in compliance with all statutory and Northern Star standard requirements.
You will be required to actively contribute towards achieving the Company’s vision by demonstrating a clear commitment to the STARR core values.
**_Specific Duties & Responsibilities_**
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of communication systems, including telephone, data, wireless networks, LTE and Mining Systems.
- Learn to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals related to communication equipment/Mining Systems.
- Assist in the setup and configuration of network equipment, such as routers, switches, and cabling.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on communication infrastructure/Mining Systems.
- Help diagnose and troubleshoot issues with communication systems under supervision.
- Work under the guidance of experienced communications technicians to develop technical skills and industry knowledge.
- Participate in training sessions and complete required coursework for apprenticeship certification.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
**_Qualifications Required_**
- Pre-apprenticeship or similar (desirable).
- Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
- Minimum completion of year 12 or equivalent.
- Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Ability to commit to 4 years apprenticeship
**_Desired Experience & Competencies_**
- Willing to work in different shifts and varying rosters.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work within a team.
- Self-motivated and consistently aim to deliver quality outcomes, with a strong focus on safety.
- Computer literacy - Microsoft Office etc.
- Good communication skills.
