**Description**

**About the role**
- You will extract, manipulate, and analyse data from internal systems and external sources to determine trends and patterns in insurance claims, premiums, and other relevant metrics. You will also be responsible for:

- Developing and maintaining reports in Tableau, Cognos or Excel to show trends and analysis of key metrics used to support pricing decisions.
- Developing and maintaining pricing models such as Risk Cost, Natural Hazard, Retention and Quote Conversion models. Recommending appropriate premiums based on risk assessments and other factors.
- Communicating actuarial analysis and findings to other stakeholders, such as underwriters, management, stakeholders, and the broader analytics community.
- Reengineering code as core systems get upgraded or replaced, or new coding practices are adopted.
- Developing projections of future insurance claims, expenses and premiums based on historical trends and other factors.
- Assisting the Financial Analytics team when required in some traditional actuarial techniques such as reserving and valuations, or financial reporting for regulatory compliance.
- Assisting in the development of new insurance products and partnership arrangements by providing actuarial analysis to determine appropriate pricing and coverage levels.

**About you**
- Knowledge and experience in a general insurance company would be ideal but not essential.
- You will have experience in programming in R, SQL, SAS or python, or the ability to develop these skills.
- Elevated level of attention to detail
- Excellent communication, negotiation, consulting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated interpretation skills, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Any experience with Tableau, Cognos, R Shiny, AWS environment and coding API interfaces will be highly regarded
- Qualified Actuaries or students of Actuarial Science preferred. Those with an analytics and insights background and the intention to study Actuarial Science will be considered.
