NALHN is seeking a Community Rehabilitation Worker to work within their highly skilled Community Mental Health Service team.
- The Community Rehabilitation Worker would be available to work across Northern Community Mental Health. Community Mental Health Services provide a range of recovery orientated support, treatment services, therapy and group programs to consumers, family and carers. These units work closely with the consumer's community support systems.
- The purpose of this position is to provide support to consumers in the community through the provision of effective psychosocial support and rehabilitation activities in order to promote their recovery and independence.
- Tasks and duties performed are of a practical nature and can include:

- Supporting the consumer to accomplish their stated goals
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and stakeholders
- Contributing to the review of consumer progress by observing and reporting to the team.
- Promoting community acceptance and reduction of stigma for people affected by mental illness.
- Following all local procedures
- Participating in relevant planning and workgroup meetings
- The Community Rehabilitation Worker will work across a range of environments including the consumer's home, the NCMHS and wider community to assist and support the development of the consumer's rehabilitation and community integration in partnership with their existing formal and informal networks.

Certificate IV in Mental Health Work - Non Clinical or a student in an Undergraduate program in a relevant health discipline is desirable.
