Who are we?

Dr Morse is a multi-faceted community connected venue right in the heart of Abbotsford, a booming trendy area in Melbourne's inner north. We are music driven and serve up specialty coffee (Ona), rotating craft ales, natural wines (with some classics in the mix), juicy house cocktails (and classics on request) and smart retro-Australiana food. We are open from 8 am until late, 6 days a week. For us, this includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and then we party until 1am over the weekend. The weekdays are more about nurturing our guests and the weekend is about being able to keep up with the masses.

Our beer garden hosts some of Melbourne's best and brightest music selectors, showcasing deep music libraries and eclectic tunes. We have a strong connection to the communities that enjoy the space and proudly celebrate a healthy staff culture also.

Who are you?
- Manage people related issues, both staff and customer.
- Deliver quality, charismatic, memorable, tailored and down to earth service.
- Show they are passionate about good food, good wine, good beer and good cocktails.
- Nurture the growth of staff knowledge and organise effective trainings.
- Talk about all things booze at the table/bar, with an ability to teach others to do so.
- Maintain a positive attitude towards the content of work and the people within it (staff and customer)
- Manage small but rotating wine list.
- Assist in tightening service procedures.
- Back up directives of the venue manager.
- Edit and re-print menus as required.
- Perform monthly stocktakes.
- Make suggestions to heighten the customer experience and profitability of the venue.
- Operate within a culture of respect.
- Seasonally update cocktail lists.
- Manage a drink program that operates within a 25% COG margin.
- Continually review bar service and make recommendations about how to make things run more efficiently.

The role will be full time over 5 days/nights.
