**About the Opportunity**

One of our well-known not-for-profit clients has a number of vacancies across one of their Family Violence specific programs in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne offering permanent and contract positions for Family Violence Intake and Response Workers.
If you are an experienced Intake Worker, Case Worker or Practitioner within the Child, Youth and Family sector, we want to hear from you

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Complete initial and ongoing assessments for children and families who are victims of family violence
- Develop Family Action Plans, Safety Plans and make appropriate referrals
- Respond to crisis
- Provide over the phone and outreach support as required
- Identify, assess, and prioritise risk of clients and respond accordingly
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team environment

**Skills and Abilities**
- Bachelor of Social work or equivalent as per the mandatory minimum qualification requirements for specialise family violence practitioners
- Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Experience as a practitioner in the Child, Youth, and Family services field
- Commitment to the family-centered approach, family strengthening and empowerment model of practice and understanding of Best Interests framework
- Demonstrated understanding of the gendered nature of family violence and trauma informed support
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values as well as issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families
