**Calling for Expression of Interest from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists**

If you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander artist who can produce fine-looking art, we want you to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). We want to use your art throughout our “Mental Health Communication Training” project.

**Communication** training for mental health professionals**:We will co-design, deliver and evaluate patient-centred communication training for non-Indigenous mental health professionals. This project aims to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients of public mental health services by training clinicians in culturally sensitive, community informed and evidence-based communication.

**Artwork concept**: This project seeks to improve communication between mental health professionals and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients. The commissioned artwork will be symbolic, abstract or figurative in a painted or drawn media.

The artwork should incorporate the following elements and emphases:

- Represent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander views of mental health;
- Represent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander views of social and emotional wellbeing;
- Reflect the importance of connection to family;
- Reflect the importance of community and co-design;
- Acknowledge the role of communication as an enabler;
- Acknowledge the importance of mutual respect and shared learning;
- Reflect the importance of talking about mental health.

**Use**: We will be displaying the painting at the Institute, and will also be using elements of the painting in collateral for the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Research Department such as posters, brochures, power point presentations, web graphics and audio-visual platforms.

Submit your EOI by: 6 February 2023

You will be notified of the outcome by:18 February 2023

If you are successful, your final artwork will need to be delivered to QIMRB by 17 March 2023

**Successful submission**

The successful artist will need to have ABN and will receive $2,000.00 plus GST for their artwork. $1,000.00 will be payable to the artist on acceptance of the design, with the remaining funds payable upon delivery of the final artwork.
