As a Youth support worker you will engage with children and young people through the following services:

- **Emergency respite care**:providing compassionate care and supervision during challenging times.
- **Supervised contact visits**:supervising and supporting children in their visits with their family.
- **Transport**:transporting children and young people to complete daily activities and participate in community activities.
- **Day respite care**:providing a fun day out for children and young people.

You will provide support to children and young people by:

- Empowering young people to make positive and informed decisions.
- Assisting in domestic tasks, shopping, cleaning, meal prep.
- Implementing behaviour support plans.
- Helping to keep the young people connected to their community by accompanying them to activities and appointments such as afternoon sport and speech therapy etc.
- Administrating medication when required.
- Write detailed and accurate shift notes.

- **Essential requirements**:_
- A current Working With Children's Check (WWCC)
- A current National Police Check
- A current Drivers license, and access to a clean, road worthy vehicle for transporting children and young people when required.
- Comprehensive car insurance on your intended work vehicle.
- Two referees
- Ability and willingness to support last minute shift requests.
- **Desirable requirements**:_
- A relevant industry qualification, or currently studying. This could include but is not limited to; community services, youth work, disability, early childhood education, psychology, teaching, social work and other welfare studies.
- A current First Aid & CPR certificate.
- This role is highly suitable for students and individuals looking for flexible hours. _
