**Role: Disability Support worker | Location: Nowra (Worrigee)**

**Your Qualifications and experience can include**:

- Current Police Check
- Valid Driver’s License and Experience Driving a Disability Van.
- NDIS Worker Clearance Check
- Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Working With Children Check
- Assistant In Nursing (advantage)
- Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support (or relevant)
- Certificate/Diploma in Mental Health, Counselling, Psychology or Social Work.
- Experience in the Disability, Aged Care or Mental Health Sector
- Manual Handling & Personal Care Training
- Experience working with Complex Mental Health Participants - Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, etc.
- Experience working with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Dissociative Identity Disorder (desirable)

**Tasks and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to**:

- Assistance with Daily Living (i.e., medication prompting, housekeeping, meal preparation)
- Transport (attend medical or health-related appointments)
- Community Access (grocery shopping, outing and activities engagement)
- Personal care (personal hygiene, toileting, showering, dressing)
- Follow behavioural support & NDIS care plans to understand our participants
- Fluent English Speaking, Easy going and Patience is a must.

**Skills**:

- Great Active Listening Skills.
- Ability to redirect and/or diffuse escalating situations.
- Confidence Asserting boundaries and Maintaining Professional Relationships.

**Job Type**: Subcontract

**Salary**: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Public holidays
- Rotating roster
- Weekend availability

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (preferred)
- National Police Certificate (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)

Work Location: In person
