Bourke Street Bakery is looking for a passionate leader for our baking team and to create great products every day and be passionate about innovation.

We started as a little rustic corner bakery in 2004 on Bourke Street in Surry Hills.

We still make everything by hand (mostly), with love and the best ingredients - the combination of great produce, artisanal skills, hard work, and our knowledge makes Bourke Street Bakery the institution it is today.

**The Role** as Head Baker, your responsibilities will include:

- Managing the team to deliver amazing bread every day.
- Enhancing the day-to-day processes for efficiency of your bakery team.
- Rostering, overseeing leave requests and other HR functions.
- Championing a culture of safety and quality through training, setting high standards, and leading by example.
- Coach and train at all steps of the Sourdough process - mixing, through to oven.
- Collaborating with the Production Manager to swiftly identify and rectify quality issues.
- Innovate - we are looking for a sourdough PASSIONESTA.
- Promptly reporting any major malfunctions of plant and equipment to the Production Manager and Operations Manager.
- Always maintaining impeccable housekeeping standards.
- Taking a proactive approach to drive efficiency improvements

**What We're Looking for** to excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

- Sourdough and yeast raised Baker by trade with 5+ years’ experience.
- Flexibility - work day, night, and weekend shifts.
- Hands-on with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
- High energy. Glass 1/2 FULL.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Demonstrated versatility, adaptability, and a strong sense of enthusiasm.
- The ability to meet deadlines and achieve production targets consistently.
- A self-motivated and autonomous work ethic, coupled with a strong team spirit.
- Experience with HACCAP, AQ Systems and process and OH&S
- Ambitious individuals looking to advance their careers - this role offers an excellent pathway to future opportunities and promotions.

- Ability to use excel, Deputy, Foodstorm, and other manufacturing software.

You love food but particularly bread and the world of bakery - you are across the Sydney and Australian Bakery scene. Meticulous about quality, and the science of bread - always looking at ways to improve the processes for better quality outcomes. You also have a passion for ideas and new products.

**Job Types**: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
