As a Horticultural Specialist within a dedicated Local Council team, you will be instrumental in the care and enhancement of Kew's public spaces. **Key Responsibilities**:
- Employ best horticultural practices to maintain plant health and garden aesthetics
- Conduct internal audits and site assessments to prioritise work effectively
- Manage and maintain irrigation systems, ensuring optimal operation
- Perform site audits, ensuring adherence to quality and standards
- Uphold all OHS and Risk Management protocols to ensure a safe workplace
- Suggest site redevelopments and planting requirements
- Conduct minor equipment maintenance to keep tools in top condition
**About You**:
- Certificate 3 in Horticulture or equivalent
- Holds an Australian manual driver's licence; Front End Loader and Light Rigid Truck Licence preferred
- Certificates in Traffic Control, Agvet Chemical Use, and Front-End Loader competency are advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in high-quality open space horticultural maintenance
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workload efficiently
- Proficient in plant cultivation, identification, pruning, weed control, and irrigation system maintenance
- Familiarity with OH&S practices specific to parks and gardens maintenance
- Competent in using minor horticultural machinery and mobile technology
- Physically fit to meet the role's demands
