Freelance Garment Technician

Sage x Clare are looking for a Garment Technician guru to work with our Design + Production team in growing our apparel category.

The role is on a freelance basis with approximately 15 hours per week* and must be available to start in early January. Proximity and availability to our office space in Bayswater is essential, as we will need on-site meetings and reviews in-person.
- An understanding in garment grading and sizing including ladies sizes 6-20
- Strong expertise in garment specifications and product development processes and techniques
- A sound understanding of têxtiles and fabrics
- Experience in Adobe Illustrator and Excel
- The ability to ensure consistency of products through sample reviews; specification sheets; construction and grading
- The ability to prepare specification packs with graded specs, fabric details and construction methods
- The ability to work with the design team on fabric quality approvals
- The ability to measure samples to ensure they conform to size specifications
- Proximity and availability to attend and participate in development and fit meetings in our Bayswater office
- The expertise to review and approve samples for fit, workmanship and construction, with clear and concise reporting of possible amendments for further samples or bulk production
- The capability to carry out risk assessment evaluations, including against Australian Standards, to identify potential problems and make practical suggestions to mitigate risk
