**About the role**
The Behaviour Support Practice Lead will support the Managers and Service Coordinators to meet their obligation with timely reporting of restrictive practices to the NDIS Commission. The role will be instrumental in supporting staff to understand practices in supporting participants and ensuring that the Behaviour Support Plans (BSP's) are communicated to and understood by staff, so they can be implemented effectively.
A Behaviour Support Practice Lead is responsible for:
- Ensuring The Bridge is compliant with all aspects of restrictive practices
- Leads the Positive Behaviour Support Champions group, a focus group committed to continuous improvement of delivery, continuity and quality of services.
- Ensure monthly reporting for restrictive practices is completed through the Quality and Safeguard Commission
- Monitor Restrictive Practice Data Base system (RIDS) and approve or reject Behaviour Support Plans developed by Behaviour Support Practitioners based on legislative requirements
- Monitor changes in regulation guidelines from the NDIS quality safeguards commission and Victorian Senior Practitioner and communicate these to The Bridge
This role is instrumental in supporting staff at The Bridge to understand polices, practices and legislation in supporting participants with behaviours of concern and ensuring that the Behaviour Support Plans are understood by staff so they can be implemented appropriately. The APO is responsible for uploading Behavioural Support Plans (BSPs) into the Restrictive Intervention Data System (RIDS) for authorisation and liaising with Victoria Senior
Practitioners.

**About you**
- Significant experience or knowledge of supporting people with complex needs, Positive Behaviour Support principles, Person Centred Active Support and Regulated Restrictive Practices
- Possess APO registration or be willing to gain registration with the Victorian Senior Practitioner as an APO.
- Ability to prioritise your work load and work with a high level of autonomy
- Expert communicator who can effectively liaise with many different stakeholders
- Passionate about advocating for people with a disability

It is also a requirement of our organisation for all employees and volunteers to acquire and maintain a positive NDIS Worker Screening Check and to have received a minimum of three doses of the Covid-19 vaccination to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our community.
This role is only available to Australian residents or to those who hold the right to work in Australia, and additionally requires the possession of a current and valid driver's license.
